The Power of Words

I believe in the power of words.
I started Relief Anthology this summer as a response to the massive floods that the state of Iowa sustained in late May and early June. I felt like a helpless bystander as fellow Americans struggled to save their homes and businesses.
I noticed however, that I wasn’t alone in [...]

Livejournal post server move…

Is it safe?

I’m coming out…

…to publicly announce:

Liz (my Liztm) and I are in the process of adoption through Oklahoma’s DHS. We finished our third foster/adoption parenting class this evening (6 more to go!) and had our fingerprints scanned earlier in the afternoon.

It’s a process for sure. We still have our home-study to complete which will probably occur post parenting [...]

Whisper quietly:
the Ancestors, they hear.
Watch closely:
the dead can dance.
Sing sweetly:
a song by which to praise.
Breath deeply:
inhale the spirit
of Mother Earth,
and Father Sky,
wait patiently for us.
Hold my [...]

Hey Michelle,

Mrs. Obama …

I believe I can quote you on this statement:

“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country [...]”

You know what?

Me too.

You can blame MRK for this one…

A couple of months ago, the beautiful and talented Mary Robinette Kowal ( ) tried a little experiment of sending a short story via text message to folks that wanted to ’subscribe.’ The idea was based off of a growing trend of people writing and reading on the go.

So I thunk to myself:

“Self…”

There should [...]
