Closed! I took in the last three orders I will be able to reasonably fulfill for 2009-2010, that is, until further notice. One pair of men’s dress shoes, French calf; one pair women’s boots with tooled tops (and fantasy art, w00t!); and one pair men’s loafers, alligator — that pushed me into mid-next year with my [...] On Tuesday, the school had a visit from 3rd generation Swedish cordwainer Jan-Erik Melkersson. He brought along with him Carina Eneroth of Skomakeri Framat AB, her company makes footwear for the Swedish royal family, and they also brought along another gentleman by the name of Ronnie who declares northern Sweden as his cordwaining kingdom. Janne’s [...] I can’t decide if it’s the sheriff, or the outlaw. Since there’s two boots, maybe one is the sheriff, and the other shadowy figure is the outlaw. 10″ stovepipes with a 3/4 bottom welt. Oil tan tops with dyed silhouette. Bullhide vamps and counters. Matching heel stain and finish. I’ll be breaking these in ’round Branson, MO [...] These are pretty much done, minus a little spit ‘n shine. The owner of these boots happened by to check them out, he tried them on (there were no tacks protruding through the inner sole (beginner’s luck, I’m sure of it). He said they felt “pretty good.” These are mine. Or they will be when I [...] …that almost did me in. Back to the leather lab…. I’ve committed to carving DaVinci’s ‘Fetus in Utero’ on a book cover. News at 11… O.o I logged into the business site to check on some existing correspondence for a commissioned bible cover. Then I discovered that I had made my first book cover sale to Australia. I’ve sold more leather to overseas clients than US clients so far. I’m all international like that. …made a guitar strap.
